Random Rants: Confused by Ad

I am kind of confused by this ad. Somehow the second sentence didn’t seem quite right to me.

Shouldn’t it be ‘ If you said: ” both students”, you should be a teacher’ instead of just ‘if you said both students, you should be a teacher”. I just thought that it seems a little awkward to use the verb on human beings directly.

Based on the stories of Julie Powell(Amy Adams) in the years 2000 and Julia Child in the 1950′s. The movie depicts Powell’s attempts to cook every single recipe in Julia Child’s cookbook, Mastering the Art of French Cooking and the subsequent blogging of her experiences during these experiments. Both women gain lots of support from their husbands. Very interesting way of filming adopted through the inter-weaving of two stories from two different timelines and two different places.
